Forever Ours (Shattered Hearts #1)
Forever Ours is the highly anticipated prequel to the New York Times and USA Today bestselling Shattered Hearts Series.
Sometimes, it takes more than love to mend a shattered heart.
After eight years of being tossed around from one home to another, never forming any meaningful friendships or bonds with her foster families, Claire's caseworker gives her an ultimatum: Behave or your next home will be a halfway house.
When fifteen-year-old Claire arrives at the home of Jackie Knight and meets Jackie's fifteen-year-old son, tattooed guitarist Chris, she fears she'll be seeing the inside of that halfway house soon. But Chris isn't like any other guy Claire has ever encountered and he soon gains her trust through his music and unwavering patience.
Claire has finally found her forever home and she and Chris soon find themselves falling in love.
But Chris's dreams of musical stardom and Claire's need for a stable home soon put their love in jeopardy. Chris struggles deeply with his plans for the future, entirely reluctant to leave Claire behind; until Claire does something that may break their love -- and the only home she's comes to know -- forever.
https://celebrityreaders.wordpress.co...I liked this book. It was okay. But.the timeline glossed over some real important parts in my opinion. And, I dont really understand what happened at the end. It was like everything that was built up over the course of two years was suddenly not good enough? The consistency wasnt there for me and that is a huge deal in my rating of a book. If it doesnt fit, I dont believe it. If I dont believe it, I loose interestfast. And I just didnt buy it with this
Could have been a 5 Star StoryLet me begin by stating this book is a prequel, and it is book number four in the Shattered Hearts series. I loved this series and experienced what I believe was an emotional transformation reading it. This fourth book solidifies the transformation that took place in my reading the other books. With that being said, I recommend that you do not read the rest of my review if you have not read the other books as their obviously would be a huge spoiler mentioned. This is
Every time I read a YA book I forgot how creepy it is for me, as a parent/grandparent, to read and get a glimpse into this age group: high school/early college. That's pretty much sums it up for me with this audiobook. Also, I didn't care for the female narrator and the male narrator sounded much too old for his character. What was up with the ending? It was quite abrupt!! I don't think I will continue with this series, but am thankful that this book helped me with several of my reading
One of the most boring New Adult books I've ever read
4.5 Forever StarsThis was such a sweet and enjoyable read. I know this is only the start of Chris and Claire's story so I don't mind that the book was short (page count for kindle edition is 197). Though I usually avoid short books, I wanted to start the series with the prequel. The flow of the story felt a bit hurried (like a novella) but again, I didn't mind since I considered it a brief glimpse into the MCs past. I devoured Leo's other series, The Story of Us and I loved the angst factor in
Frustrating endingThis was a very good story. The pace was slow-ish but I still sucked up every word without wanting to skip paragraphs. The ending was something of a let down but I wont go into detail. Suffice it to say that this is a 7 book series, so far, so that shoul tell you something. I am considering listening to the audiobook of Relentless (book 2) on Hoopla but Im not ready to shell out lots of cash for the rest of the series...yet. If anyone knows how to get book 2 (ebook only) for

This was a very sweet start to the series. I'm not quite sure how to review this book, since it's a novella. But I decided to read in order of the series, instead of in order published. While they fell in love very quickly, it didn't feel rushed or forced for some reason. This book just clicked and made sense. I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love with the rest of the series, so I'm off to start now...https://celebrityreaders.wordpress.co...I liked this book. It was okay.
