This is an incredible set of books. Because I read them all in a set they all meld into one book in my mind. As inspiring Christian fiction this would be at the top of my list, just under Erynn Mangum's books. Let's just say that I learned some much needed lessons from a these books. Despite the fact that the main character Christy is 15 years-old I could still relate to the issues she struggled with. The lessons she learned were very good, and there was a lot of Bible content involved in*gawkes* this was so gooooood.
Great book! Although i am not in my teenage years anymore and have been in the Lord for a few years, this book i believe allows young kids to connnecy and understand how the Lord moves and works. There are real life examples that Christy first handedly experiences herself. The author solves the issue and shows how God always pulls through! A great read! Teens young and old can definitely relate to thos book. Great revelation!
The Christy Miller series is one of my favorite series I've ever read. Robin Jones Gunn is also one of my favorite authors. All of the volumes have 3 books in them. They are also fairly easy reads and the book length is pretty easy to get through without getting bored which is perfect for preteens and teeangers. You will not find any unnecessary language or inappropriatness in the series either. This first volume contains: Summer Promise, A Whisper and a Wish, and Yours Forever. The Christy
I can't believe I liked these books when I was younger... Christy is annoying.Todd is flippant.The whole book is problematic. Also, I'm a very insecure person, I don't read books to read about insecurities, especially those that aren't addressed.
I enjoyed parts of this book, but found myself inwardly cringing through much of it, unable to do anything but watch Christy make one mistake after another. Christy pretty much drove me nuts. She is EXTREMELY moody. One moment she's falling in love with Todd, the next she's completely flipping out, yelling and chucking her sandals at him. She obsessed over him and would blow up over dumb stuff and make an idiot of herself. But there were times I have to say I understood Christy's frustration
