Interpretation Toward Books Infected (Infected #1)

Across America a mysterious disease is turning ordinary people into raving, paranoid murderers who inflict brutal horrors on strangers, themselves, and even their own families. Working under the government’s shroud of secrecy, CIA operative Dew Phillips crisscrosses the country trying in vain to capture a live victim. With only decomposing corpses for clues, CDC epidemiologist Margaret Montoya races to analyze the science behind this deadly contagion. She discovers that these killers all have one thing in common – they’ve been contaminated by a bioengineered parasite, shaped by a complexity far beyond the limits of known science. Meanwhile Perry Dawsey – a hulking former football star now resigned to life as a cubicle-bound desk jockey – awakens one morning to find several mysterious welts growing on his body. Soon Perry finds himself acting and thinking strangely, hearing voices . . . he is infected. The fate of the human race may well depend on the bloody war Perry must wage with his own body, because the parasites want something from him, something that goes beyond mere murder.

Weigh Up Out Of Books Infected (Infected #1)
What a weird, violent and bloody novel. It wasn't my kind of horror novel, and I didn't like the characters in it, or the author's narrating voice at all. But for some reason, I continued to listen to the podcast form of the audiobook throughout the entire novel. I kind of wanted to know if these infections were alien in nature (which was my guess from the beginning, not knowing anything about the novel before reading it), or man-made. Well you find out near the end, which helped. But like I

The Book is hands down awesome.

4.5 stars. This was an excellent sci-fi/horror that begs to be adapted into a David Cronenberg film (with good old fashioned special effects, none of that CGI crap.) I listened to the audio version narrated by the author as a free podcast download from iTunes. The production quality was top-notch and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Wow, Scott really goes for the gross-out here. Look out Stephen King. I find Scott's books very readable (what does that even mean?) Ending was abrupt. Possibly setting up for a sequel. I want to know more about it! I may even have nightmares.S P O I L E R S B E L O W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Did anyone else get EXTRA creeped out by the association with Morgellons? Look it up if you haven't, I thought I was being April Fool's day

Extremely gory, the main character is one tough a..hole. My stomach actually churned a few times.

This was truly one of the grossest books at times and I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares. And... I loved it!!! I have a signed copy and the inscription reads "Save Perry's balls!" I caught on about halfway through! There is science, and itching, and more science, and alien things, and gore, and more gore, and... You really have to read it!! Sigler is a master storyteller of this genre!! I have Contagious open and ready to go!!
