This is a really quirky read. By which I mean that the narrative voice is of a particular flavor/character and it's a strong flavor/character that Christie maintains very well so if it annoys you, you're going to hate this book. Violet is snarky and self-critical, even as she doesn't really care about what other people think. She's also prone to nervous jitters that sabotage her both verbally and physically.
