Chronicle In Pursuance Of Books The Wager (The Bet #2)

THE WAGER

Lose a bet, lose your heart...

What is it about a junior-high crush that can send an otherwise intelligent woman into a tailspin? TV reporter Char Lynn wishes she knew. Jake Titus is too rich, too handsome, too arrogant: a trifecta that once lured Char into the best night-and worst morning-after-of her life. Now they've been thrown together in a wedding party. It's awkward, but survivable . . . until Jake stops acting like a jerk, and starts acting like the man she'd always hoped he could be.

If watching your brother marry your best friend is weird, being attracted to your best friend's other best friend is downright bizarre. Unfortunately for Jake, Char hasn't forgotten how he once tossed her aside. Worse still, Jake's already-nutty grandma is even crazier about Char. Cue meet-cute shenanigans and all manner of meddling, and somehow, Jake's falling. For Char. Now all he has to do is make her believe it . . .

Criticize Regarding Books The Wager (The Bet #2)
I regret reading this because it ruined my perfectly fun and nice impression of The Bet. Because this book tries too hard to follow the atmosphere of the first one it borders on being insane. That, and Jake gets a sudden epiphany and boom - he gets his redemption. If you read The Bet and loved it, I suggest skipping this one. Or at least skip the Jake and Char part to get to Travis and Kacey.

SO FREAKING AWESOME! I initially was't sure if I wanted to even read this since I loathed Jake in The Bet. But lucky for me, Ms. Van Dyken (somewhat) redeemed him at the end so I went straight to this and guess what?! I couldn't put it down! I freaking loved it! Jake turns out to be a good guy. I loved watching him come to the realization that how he'd been living his life wasn't too good. His behavior was appalling and I could tell he truly wanted to change. Of course, once he realized his true

This was even funnier than the first book!I had my doubts going into this one because I wasn't too crazy about Jake's character in The Bet but I was pleasantly surprised by his development in this book. He proved to be more than a mindless jerk and displayed his vulnerable side which went a long way toward redeeming him in my eyes.As usual, Grandma Nadine takes the cake for the most insane, hilarious character ever. Even though she proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she did not understand

The WAGER was NOTHING WHAT I EXPECTEDWOW, what an ADORABLE, TOO-CUTE, FUNNY, PEE-IN-MY-PANTS kind of READ!I read The Bet and thought it was a cute read, I had some frustrating moments, but overall I was pleased. So I went into The Wager with no expectations, usually book 2 is hard for me to like in any series, but not this one!Im putting Rachel Van Dyken on my favorite list because this book was just TOO CUTE! I know I said it already, but it just had to be said again. So you have two characters,

I received this book from GCP via NetGalley.I am eying Rachel Van Dyken's book since her book "The Bet" landed on New York Time Bestseller List. However, I do not really like love triangle plot so I do not pick "The Bet" up to read yet. However, since this book had been offered on NetGalley and I like the blurb, I decided to request it. I usually request the book I am more than likely to love. I really hate to write a low star review. It is not easy and uncomfortable. Sadly this book is one of

A more wretched hive of sophomoric "humor" and outright idiocy will be hard to find. No, seriously, this book actively kills brain cells and makes the reader stupid.I want to know what happy drugs led to the five star reviews, because those drugs could cure depression. Maybe even end world hunger. They must be that strong, because there is no way any reader with an ounce of self-literacy respect can read this and not be appalled by the sheer inanity. This is what supposedly passes for humor:1) A

Super sweet and steamy and a brilliant read! The Wager was a fantastic New Adult romance. I loved the story, the characters, just everything. Loved this book!Char was a strong heroine. She went from a very self conscious adolescent, to a very successful woman. And, she's determined to keep that past where it belongs. But, when Jake comes along, her insecurities come back. Along with her feelings for Jake. I really liked her. I thought she was a great character, one that was easy to relate to.
