Narrative Supposing Books Waking the Witch (Otherworld #11)

One of the most popular writers of paranormal fiction and the #1 New York Times bestselling author returns with a rollicking new novel in her Otherworld series. At twenty-one, Savannah Levine-orphaned daughter of a notorious dark witch and an equally notorious cutthroat sorcerer-considers herself a full-fledged member of the otherworld. The once rebellious teen has grown into a six-foot-tall, motorcycle-riding jaw-dropper, with an impressive knowledge of and ability to perform spells. The only problem is, she's having a hard time convincing her adoptive parents, Paige and Lucas, to take her seriously as an adult. She's working as the research assistant at the detective agency they founded, and when they take off on a romantic vacation alone, leaving her in charge, Savannah finds herself itching for a case to call her own. (She's also itching for Adam, her longtime friend and colleague, to see her as more than just a little girl, but that's another matter.)Suddenly, Savannah gets the chance she's been waiting for: Recruited by another supernatural detective, she travels to Columbus, Washington, a small, dying town. Two troubled young women have been found in an abandoned warehouse, murdered. Now a third woman's dead, and on closer inspection small details point to darker forces at play. Savannah feels certain she can handle the case, but with signs of supernatural activity appearing at every turn, things quickly become more serious- and far more dangerous-than she realizes.

Critique Regarding Books Waking the Witch (Otherworld #11)
Savannah Levine is a powerful young witch with a rebellious past and a troublesome heritage. The orphaned daughter of a sorcerer and a half-demon, Savannah is a terrifyingly powerful young witch who has never been able to resist the chance to throw her magical weight around. But at twenty-one she knows she needs to grow up and prove to her guardians, Paige and Lucas, that she can be a responsible member of their supernatural detective agency.Savannah takes a case to solve murders of several

Savannah is trying a PI case on her own. She runs into a lot of problems & faces a lot of her own demons. Adam is there for support & to jump in a help if needed but she does not want his help. Savannah wants to probe that she can do it on her own.I was pulled into this story. I loved it. I am a little disappointed with the ending because I was left with a cliff hanger which makes me want to jump right into the next book. I know that is the point but I wanted to take a little break from

I really enjoyed Savannah's point of view and the mystery in this one.I do have to say that (view spoiler)[ I guessed that Jesse was involved but would never have guessed he was possessed by Leah way back from the beginning of the series. Nice throwback but it kinda ruined the end for me because there's no way to figure out a mystery like that. I was also very upset about Michael's death, and what happened to Kayla. :( (hide spoiler)]

I'm a fan of Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, page-turning paranormal mysteries with romantic elements told from the first person point of view of a female supernatural: a werewolf, witch, angel, necromancer, half-demon... In this case it was Savannah Levine, daughter and ward of two previous protagonists. She's a witch and a private investigator. For quite a while I was happily being pulled along by the mystery. Armstrong has a deft style and strong world-building that sucks

Waking the Witch is the eleventh book in Kelley Armstrongs ridiculously popular paranormal series, Women of the Otherworld. It is also the first book to be narrated by long-running, fan-favourite character Savannah Levine.Savannahs guardians, Paige Winterbourne and Lucas Cortez, are on a much-needed Hawaiian vacation. . . and while away Savannah is in charge of their Private Investigation business. So it happens that when telekinetic-demon and fellow PI, Jesse Aanes, walks through the door with

Starting with this one, the last three books of the series are primarily told through Savannah's point of view. We've seen her since the second book of the series, Stolen, first as a young girl and now finally as an adult. In Stolen she meets Elena and works her way into the wolf pack as a friend, while she is adopted by Paige for the third and fourth books. Everyone know her name, and now she finally gets to go out on her own for her first investigative case.Savannah isn't as compassionate at

WrensReads Review:I loved Savannah finally getting her own story, dont get me wrong. But I also thought this story was a little weak for her. She is one of the strongest women written in this series. Ever since she was a kid she gave no craps about anyone and will do whatever the hell she wants to do because that is what she wants to do. I understand that she has grown up and everything like that, but that kind of spunk doesnt just die. What I am happy about, is that her story isnt done. If I am
