*sigh* what an awesome book. Seriously, it was absolutely great! See, I love historical fiction. And, this one is even more special since it is set in a fictional fantasy historical world that is just incredibly imaginative. I love what Cayla Kluver developed her and I envie her talent in creating such a world. Also, I have to mention that she was only 15 when she created this work of fantastic fiction, but one would never guess this when reading her book. In Legacy we have two rival communitiesPreviously published on my blog: http://fictionfervor.wordpress.com/20...After I finished Legacy, the first thing I did was look up more about the author. Check out her bio:Writing has always been Cayla Kluvers passion. It wasnt until her freshman year in high school that she discovered this made her different from her classmates. She was writing in a notebook at the lunch table, when a friend asked her if she was doing homework. When Cayla said no, she was just writing down some ideas, her
First let me just say wow. I am in love with this book and with Cayla's beautiful writing. Cayla wrote this book when she was only 14 years old! I know, can you believe it? I am so impressed with the storyline, it kept me at the edge of my seat. I loved the descriptive details which helped me imagine the life of Princess Alera. I enjoyed most of the characters, with the exception of one, Steldor, which was her father's choice for suitor, he was an arrogant son of a gun. I don't want to say a lot
Another reviewer on amazon said something about this book that made a lot of sense to me- that if the author hadn't been 16 that she wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention as she already has. I have to agree with that- the book is "ok" but other than that I sort of don't see what all the fuss is about. The story follows Princess Alera as she goes about her daily life. She is told that she must choose a husband before she turns 18, but unfortunately the only suitor her father will really
From reading other GR reviews I found out this was written by a 16 year old (or 14 or 18 year old) I'm too lazy to find out the author's age tbh. All I can say is that I'm not surprised it does read like a (some) teenager's idea princess adventure. I think it's great she managed to write a book, at 16 the only thing I was writing were love notes to Pancho (he was cute ok?) and it's easy to read and more organized than other adult writers I've read recently I'm looking at you Possession BUT the
*4.5 stars* rounded up because the author was in her early teens when writing -- that definitely deserves a brownie point or two.i loved this world and did not want to leave it! the writing was pompous at times, the characterization only moderate, but the setting, pacing, and plot twists were fantastic.can't wait for the sequels to be available in englishpg13 green mild kissing, mild violencemay 2012 re-read :)
