Usually when you pick up a book about a Hollywood family, you expect to feel fine about the characters but not really connect with them (unless you're a Hollywood teenager yourself). While I didn't exactly connect with Kaitlin on the lifestyle level, I did really enjoy her personality, which often does not happen when reading in this genre. I think my ability to like Kaitlin is because the whole plot of this book is that she wants a normal life - so we get to see her interact with 'normal'This was a great book and I can't wait to continue reading the series. It's cool how it shows us the life of a young Hollywood star and how sometimes they wish they could be normal like us.
I loved this book!! This book is about a famous actress named Kaitlin Burke. Rumors are spreading about her and she realizes she wants something different for a vacation. She wants to be a normal high school teenager. She disguises herself as a British girl named Rachel Rogers. I'm obviously not going to give everything away but Kaitlin discovers the meaning of friendship, love, being who you truly are. This book had me laughing, rooting for Kaitlin. It was very cute and very well written. I also
I read this book multiple times in my life. It was one of my favorite when I was in High School. Last time I read this book in 2014 I gave it 5 stars, I read many books since and I know this book is not a 5 stars book. It's cheesy, it's cliché and predictable but it's such a good guilty pleasure book!
Generally, I try not to think about that period in life known as high school. Rereading Secrets of my Hollywood Life did remind me that there was some good in those four years, notably the excitement of whenever a new Kaitlin Burke book was published. Also, STAR WARS. I'm sure Kaitlin is just as excited as I am about the 18th.
This book absolutely amazing. The main character Kaitlin Burke is a famous 15 year old movie star. In the book, Kaitlin is just sick and tried of being followed everywhere she goes. So she decides to go to school with her best friend, Liz (Liz already attended the school), insead of having her tutor. She attends this school and is dressed up as a English foreign exchange student named Rachel Rogers. Throughout the book, Kaitlin/"Rachel" learns how to balance out her double life and along the way
I'd probably rate this book a 3.5 stars. Yes, it's super cheesy and full of tropes, but I enjoyed it. It was a fun and quick read, that reminds me of the kind of books I read in middle school. For me, it's one of those genres that I pick up every so often to remind myself why I fell in love with reading.A few times I caught myself laughing at how obviously dated this book is like the MC uses a sidekick, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are still together. Also the fact that kids were obsessed with
