For lovers of scifi this is truly a remarkable series. Each book gets better and better. I know because I read the whole series. I love the author's descriptive style and deep characterizations. Even though the story is dark and emotional at times, I also had an uplifted feeling from the first book. Spoiler: I'm so glad Netty, Wil and Baby came back to play fully realized parts in the rest of the books. It is wonderful to see so many parts for strong women. I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of science fiction nor of dystopian fantasy. However, having reviewed this book I can honestly say that I was engrossed by this series.
