Piece Out Of Books The Protector (Roman trilogy #2)
I was so happy to see Quintus and Adiona take center stage in the second of this series. They both stole my heart immediately. I think this will be my favorite out of the three books.

this second book was just as good as the first one! loved it so much. i also gave this one to my sister and she flew through the book and asked if there was another in the series. cant say anything else except it was amazing!

Great story! I loved that they both felt unloved and had tragic backgrounds and discovered love in each other.

Carla Capshaw's ability to put very interesting characters in the midst of a very believable historical setting and continually hold the reader's interest throughout the entire story is amazing. She brings back some of the characters from her first book,"The Gladiator," but "The Protector" focuses on Adiona and Quintus. The novel also deals with how hard it is to overcome fears that are deeply rooted in your past, and the beauty of new-found faith. Add the intrigue of a killer on the loose and

Fantastic Romance!!!!!

Although I didn't quite understand the "instant" attraction, or love at first sight that the 2 main characters seemed to have, I enjoyed the story and how it was told. I thought the historical details were fascinating, too. And though I was not at first convinced of the romance, I was by about half-way through. I loved Quintus' character and his background. I look forward to the next one in the series!

I liked Adiona and Quintus in the first book, so I was excited to read this one. Then I was disappointed when I started reading this one and discovered that they'd suddenly morphed into the main characters from the previous book. Does this author only know how to write one kind of romance? The details change, but the essence stays the same, and the personalities of the characters shift to fit their new roles. Gone is funny, snarky, spitfire Adiona; now we get angsty, hesitant, self-conscious
