There are three truths I have come to learn in the year since the Dragon War. The first is that both humans and dragons have the capacity to be good or evil. The second is that even if you're doing something you love, you can still become bored with your work. And the third is that my business partner, Marta, will never be finished with her wedding gown.Either one of them. 3.5I read Dragon Flight years back, and my memory reminded me that I liked it but not as much as the original. LOVED this book intriguing, suspenseful, and full of wonderful surprises! Recamended series to all who like a good series to get into!
I've spent the last week rereading Jessica Day George's oh-so-lovely dragon series starring Creel, Prince Luka, and their dragon friends. One war with the dragons is over and done with, but, a second is about to begin. And this time, it may not be an evil human controlling the dragons through alchemy, but, an evil dragon controlling a human king controlling dragons through alchemy. Having read reviews that mentioned enjoying the first book, Dragon Slippers, more than the rest, I picked this one up with slight apprehension. I never expected to enjoy Dragon Flight even more than the first installment! The previous book had laid the groundwork, allowing this one to build upon our knowledge of the existing characters and spice it all up with an extended cast and considerably more action. Reading about Creel, Luka, Shardas and co. again was like meeting old friends, and it was
Creel and company are back for a whole new adventure. Granted, said adventure is moderately similar to the first book in ways, but it was pleasant to read regardless. In any case, the second book, Dragon Flight is on par with the first book. I don't feel as if any great new strides are made by the book, but that's not what the book is about. It's about a girl, a bunch of dragons, and an adventure that's basically always right at your doorstep. I think the best part of the books is the
Great sequel. The story was intriguing and surprising. The one disappointment was the relationship between Luke and Creel. I didn't feel it was developed enough. Luckily, that was forgivable since Creel's relationship with the dragons is so fantastic. I love the unique personalities of all the dragons and how much Creel cares for each of them. Fun series!
